New Orleans 04-08-06 135.JPG - The junction of two canals. The canals have been used by a variety of organizations, including logging companies (to float logs out) and oil companies (to float oil rigs in). Plus the area served as a natural place of concealment for pirates and the markets where they sold their merchandise. Given the Alligators we saw, I don't think conoeing here would be high on my list but it seems popular.
